Murchison Offroad Adventures

Go Mr Lambers! ;)

Derek navigating his way down. He did make by the way

On the track heading toward home

This short holiday was so fun. It was full of new experiences and even though it was stinking hot it was relaxing to not have anything planned and just try to chill!!

My fav saying was 'Look out for that tree!'-Tarzan
My fav song was 'L is for the the way you look to-night'- from the Little rascals movie. We watched it on the way there.

Murchison Offroad Adventures

Our only way to cool off was to swim in this part of the river that hadn't dried up! Was such a relief as the temperature did get to 48'C!!

Dad B found it refreshing to put weed on his head

Our entertainment and anything to float on meant we didn't have to touch the muddy weedy ground

One day after leaving the waterhole and in my rush to get in the car without the flies i accidently dropped a thong and didn't realize till we got home (15 min drive and without aircon)!! Both dad's went back to pick it up!! Thanks- it was the only pair of footwear i had!

This is what happens to marshmallows in 48'C heat!!

Murchison Offroad Adventures

Our sitting area- was very nice
My bed- the base was taken away for Kirsty to sleep on. On the last day when the boys put it back
together there was a lizard between the matress and the shed- right near my head!
Derek and my dad getting ready for the buggy tour- most people went on them, it think they used a total of 10 buggies!?
Kirsty- what a poser :)

Murchison Offroad Adventures

From January 7th till the 10th i had the priveledge of tagging along with Dad and Mum van Delden, Melissa and Malcolm to Murchison Offroad Adventures. It's about 1hour drive inland fron Kalbarri. We went with Dad and Mum byl, Jasmine, Natalie, Dave, Kirsty, Derek and Shelley and the Lambers family! We arrived in about 45 degree heat, and some of us expecting a chalet in the form of a shearers quarters (after all it was a sheep station) were shocked at the sight of the accomodation.

The kitchen-with a just working fridge.
I should also say that we had no cold water coming out of the taps.
The water that came out the taps was burning hot!

The bathroom-that smelled like something died in it. All we wanted was a cold shower but we couldn't take one till about 9:30- even then it was still a warm one

And me- it's not very clear to see (phew!) but i don't really sweat! I just go red in the face and my face seemed to feel a bit swollen

Natalie and Melissa still cooling down at about 9pm

Fighting for Dominance #2

Here they are, at it again, same afternoon!

Fighting for Dominance #1

Here is Pepsi play fighting with Klay (3 1/2 year old Daschund cross Chihuahua). They do this every day and make a even bigger show when we come out with camera's! So cute! I do wonder though if Klay realizes that one day Pepsi will be bigger than him!

Meet our new best friend

While we were in Bunbury, Anson wanted to check out some 6wk old boxer pup's. After his 9yr old boxer Jem got bitten by a snake about 2 months ago, we wanted to get a new puppy and the breeder had two left. So we went there, fell in love and Neil & fam brought it back with them a few days later. Here she is at 7 weeks old,

Her name is : Pepsi

Pancake Recipe

Here is the recipe for Pancakes that are fluffy like Hotcakes,
I did not make the recipe, though i did change it a little to the way i like it. You may find you'll need to add more milk. I don't make them huge as they are thick and quite filling. Enjoy!!

BASIC PANCAKES
 Serves 4
 Ingredients:
 2 cups plain flour
2½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 cups milk
2 tbls butter, melted
 Method:
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine egg and milk.
Add to flour mixture, stirring only until smooth.
 Blend in melted butter.
Cook on greased griddle or in greased fry pan.

The beginnings of 2009

Hi! This will be our very first post so it makes sense to me to start at the beginning of the year! Though we have no photo's to prove it, we awoke on the 1st of jan (by choice we slept outside) after spending a fun-filled New Year's Eve with Neil and Trinette and fam. We decided to make them breakfast as a thank you for letting us stay the night at their fav holiday spot in Bunbury. We cooked, Actually Anson cooked pancakes that taste like Mc hotcakes, bacon, eggs and hashbrowns, Mmmmm it was very yum! Then we went off to Gnomesville, it sounds creepy but it was really cute. It was meant to be a 20 min drive :) and we took a gnome which we had all signed and placed it with hundreds of other gnomes that other people had randomly placed along the road and into the bush. Very fascinating-you have to see it to believe it and one day we plan to check it out and see if our gnome is still there! The rest of the day was spent by the pool, very relaxing! Def my kind of thing!
