Us

Here is a photo of us, taken for the 30th wedding anniversary for Dad and Mom van Delden last year.  Thanks to Kelly monster for the wonderful photos!

Our Family

Our family consists of 2 dogs - cross dachshund who's about 7 years old.  Here is some recent photos.  They are the love of our 'children' - they spend many hours observing our life, and we observing theirs.
(I found out how to do photo effects!!)

Slight cock of the head - I don't think that camera is food!
Got to love the boxer face - curious & inquisitive.
Looking into her eyes (and nose)!
7 years old, and still looks like a puppy.  Ageing gracefully.
Pepsi jumping up, watching Rachel in the kitchen.  I mean, who wouldn't want to watch Rachel in her element!!
Pepsi getting back to her wild side!

The meat is a heavy as Klay!

Tour de France

Its that time of the year when I spent many hours, watching the Tour de France.  I love this race.  It fascinates me for some strange reason.  I know that Rachel doesn't understand why I sleep during anything, but manage to stay awake till 12pm every night, watching the tour!

The most watched annual sporting event in the world!!  Amazing scenery, huge mountains, big crashes...  Got to love it!
I bought another bike (on the right) - a track bike that is dedicated for my trainer.  I can ride this bike while watching the tour on my outside TV!!  Works great.  I think I am crazy!
Our bike rack now contains 4 bikes, between 2 people!  I have 3 bikes; my road racer, my track bike for the trainer, my mountain bike, and Rachel's road bike!!

Jayakarta Hotel

Some photos here of the Jayakarta Hotel.  We have been here twice.  Love the big breakfasts, close to the beach, and lots of greenery!

Front of the hotel

View from the Lobby looking out towards the pools.
x2 pools, and lots of beach chairs to read books in!
Our hotel 'block' in the distance (4 rooms per block)
Love the flowers here!
Lots of green grass, trees and plants.
Driveway out of the hotel
Our room for 11 days - top right

More rooms...
...and more.

Rachel, sitting with the suitcases, ready to go home.

That was Bali 2012.  We had a great time doing nothing but relaxing, reading, swimming and a few days out of the hotel.
Thanks to Rachel for the wonderful time, and work (Stone with Character and Unravelled) for the time off!

Our Day Out - Bali

We spent one day with a driver, spending over 9 hours travelling through the mountains to the other side of the island.  Again, another day well spent away from the hotel.

'Floating' monastery on a lake, high up in the mountains (with even more mountains in the background)

Rachel posing in front of the temple.  It was very cold up there, hence the sarong.

Next stop, monkeys on the side of the road.  Not the monkey forest, but monkeys in a forest.  Very cute to see.

Posing in-front of one of the 5 lakes.
Another lake
3rd stop, an amazing (again I use that word - don't know how else to explain it) waterfall.   This photo turned out really well with a long exposure.  Looks like milk!
Rachel in-front of the waterfall.
Both of us together
I look really serious - I think I was upset that my thongs were soaked, and we had 300 steps to climb still!
More camera effects (not photo-shopped)!!
4th stop - the hot water springs.  If the water looks green, your right, it is.  Definitely didn't look inviting, but the  intrigue of the hot water made us go for a swim.

Lovely Rachel trying to tell me how green and slimy the water felt (and looking cute as always)

The upper pool was even warmer - not for me!

Last stop was Lovina, a large town on the other side of the island, famous for the black sand beaches, and swimming with dolphins in a hotel pool!!
